In Schools Program
The In Schools program is a special project to widen the positive impact of the Clinic. The program
extends the Clinic’s vision and mission to integrate frequent explicit small group phonemic awareness
and phonics instruction for K-2 students who are struggling with learning to read.
Led by strategic and confident DCPS educators trained in the science of reading and structured literacy,
K-2 students will solidify the early literacy skills necessary for successful literacy development as they
advance through upper elementary school and beyond.
